I am a self-employed go-getter. I love to help people and companies solve their project needs. I do this through researching, developing, strategizing, organizing, and coordinating projects. I provide a number of different services that contribute to the success of different companies.  I am involved in:

Developing and Managing Websites, Blogs and Social Media Accounts – I’m able to determine the needs of a project and create a plan that sees the intended goal realized.  I am efficient, detail oriented, and excellent at virtual communication.  Current and past projects include:

• My ERC: I created a virtual youth employment resource centre website, blog, and Twitter account.  I maintain these sites, find contributors and also contribute to them and the Facebook page.
• Acer Garden Centre: I created and maintain the website and Facebook page for Acer Garden Centre.  I also coordinate other marketing initiatives.
• Life Strategies: I contribute posts for the Life Strategies – Reconnect LinkedIn group, articles for the “Career Engagement” blog, and articles on self-employment for the “Look Before You Leap” blog.  I also provide social media advising and virtual assistant services.
• Crosswinds Contracting: I created the Crosswinds website and coordinate marketing.
• McMurray Mini Storage: I created the McMurray Mini Storage website through WordPress and PageLines technology.
• BCWorkinfonet Youth Site: I coordinated and maintained the BCWIN Youth site for four years.  This included coming up with monthly themes, finding contributors, posting articles, and maintaining the twitter site (now Workapedia Youth).  I also developed and coordinated the popular online resource “Ask A Counsellor”.  I worked with the BC Workinfonet Society and ASPECT.

Virtual Assistant Services – I provide virtual assistant services for different organizations by performing research, developing documents, engaging contacts, organizing meetings, etc.  I was instrumental in organizing the tasks of two search teams at Inglewood Christian Reformed Church, responsible for recruiting and hiring new staff members.

Event and Group Planning – I have been organizing events of different sizes, from conferences to workshops for the past 16 years.  Recent projects include:

• Inglewood CRC: I was a member of the Sunday school coordinator team at Inglewood Christian Reformed Church.
• McQueen Community Indoor Playground: Coordinated the set-up of the weekly playgroup for young children and their caregivers.
• Inglewood CRC: I coordinated a weekend women’s retreat for over 30 women from Inglewood Christian Reformed Church.
• BC Career Development Conference: I was the Volunteer Coordinator on the Conference Planning Committee for the 2007 BC Career Development Conference.  I recruited, trained, scheduled and organized volunteers for a conference of over 600 people.
• LMI Workshop Series: I organizing and ran the original Labour Market Information Workshop Series hosted by Pacific Community Resources Society in 2006.  It included over 100 people attending three workshops presented by industry leaders.
• BC Youth Week: I was the Provincial Coordinator of BC Youth Week 2006.

Freelance Writing/Editing – I enjoy writing and my work can be found in several local and national publications, both online and in print.  I’ve also contributed to business proposals and program curriculums. I currently write for several different websites and social media accounts.  I have also have been trained in editing for print and web.  My recent writing can be found at “In the Media.”

Facilitating Workshops and E-Courses - I am a Competent Communicator with Toastmasters and a certified Job Club Facilitator who enjoys public speaking and facilitating.  I presented at the Cannexus 2010 conference in Ottawa, Ontario.  I also facilitate the online course “Look Before You Leap: Self-Employment Survival Strategies” for Life Strategies.

Career Coaching – I specialize in assisting youth entering the job market and youth pastors in their career search. I have the unique combination of experiences of being a youth employment counselor, a retail hiring manager, sitting on two search teams, and being married to a youth pastor.  I get excited about helping others consider possibilities and creating strategies to achieve their goals and find personal, relational and career fulfillment.  Career coaching services include administering and interpreting psychometric assessments, resume reviewing, resume writing, interview coaching, job search strategies, and portfolio development.
